Well. Here we are again. I’m a big fan of New Year’s resolutions (that’s not to say that I keep them…fingers crossed?), and one of mine for this year is to keep in touch better. That means logging into Facebook daily, Skype, email, real mail*…
Here’s the thing. I have this huge stack of long, long (I mean yong) partially-written posts on various important topics: the trips we took last year, my incredibly complicated feelings on the country in which we live, etc. I can spend hours staring at those, or writing and deleting and writing and deleting—and they feel like homework and hang over my head until I avoid this thing altogether. So I’m going to keep it simple, with little posts about daily life rather than these terrible marathon numbers. You may never see a full recap of our trip to Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Or the one to Indonesia. Or even the little ones around Vietnam. But a picture here and there? Maybe a few sentences? Doable.
*Want to guess the number of postcards I sent last year? I’ll give you a hint—it’s a nice round number. If I were going to place an emoticon here it would be the one with big red cheeks looking at the floor…
